Students at schools that partner with Upverge can use it. Your school enrolls you, so you do not need to sign up.
What can I talk about?
You can talk about anything on your mind, such as studies, stress, friends, or what you want to do after school. If it matters to you, it matters here.
How do I talk to an ally?
Log in with the details your school gives you, choose text, voice, or video, and tap Chat now. An ally will join you.
I'm shy. Do I have to show my face?
No, you do not. Text and voice never need a camera, and on video the camera stays off until you turn it on.
Which option should I pick?
Choose whatever feels easiest today. Type if you feel nervous, talk if you want to say it out loud, or use video if you would like a face-to-face chat. You can choose differently next time.
Is my chat private?
Yes. Your ally sees only a nickname, and your real identity is stored separately from your sessions. The only exception is safety: if someone may be in danger, an ally can raise a safety flag.
Will my parents or teachers know what I said?
What you say stays between you and your ally, except in a safety emergency. You also choose how you appear. If you stay anonymous, your school only sees group totals. If you choose to use your name, your school may see that you have had sessions.
